“I remember the first time I saw an Exotic Shorthair cat. He was a super chill tuxedo with cutest face and a beautiful short coat. My daughter, an expert in all things Cat, told me all about the breed and I was smitten. Fast-forward a couple of years, and I knew we were ready to add a feline fur baby to our family. We live in Texas, so I began researching breeders in the area and surrounding states. “After looking for a long time for an exotic shorthair kitten or cat, I finally bought two boys from a breeder not that far from where we live. Right from the start, both have had serious medical/soundness issues. When I decided I wanted to add a little girl to our kitty family, I contacted Kathi at Stellarosa Exotics instead. I wish I had contacted her when I first started looking, but I thought she lived too far away. Now, I’d opt for a kitten from her, even if she lived at the North Pole. “Kathi was so wonderful from my initial inquiry about a male kitten, the weeks leading up to picking him up, and even to this day. When I found out she had a male seal point for me I said his name would be Baci. She started calling him Baci and he knew his name when I brought him home!

Kathi truly raises her kittens with the utmost care. I could immediately tell that Baci was given lots of hands-on love and affection. She gave me weekly updates on his stages of growth and development. The videos she provided were priceless and she was so kind to send me still photos when I asked. It was fun to see him grow from week to week. She was very gracious in answering all my questions and always responded in a timely manner, which I greatly appreciated because I knew she was very busy!

She made adopting Baci so easy and the communication was very clear. When I picked him up, I could tell it was a bittersweet moment for her to say good-bye to him; a true testament on how she lovingly raises the kittens as her own.

Baci’s bone structure is solid and strong. He has beautiful blue eyes and a thick healthy coat. He has the sweetest temperament. He loves to be held, is very playful, and he’s vocal when he wants to eat or needs attention. He is very smart too! By the time he was 7 months old he learned the vocal commands and hand signals to: come, sit, sit pretty, high five, handshake, and ring a bell. As he learns new tricks, I send Kathi videos so she can see what a smart and funny “grandson” she has!

Baci brings so much love and joy to our family. I feel very blessed to have found Kathi and hope to adopt another kitty from her in the future.”

“My experience with Stellarosa Exotics has been far beyond 5 star. I would give Kathi a million stars if that were possible but I guess I’ll go with 5 =). I could tell from the start, with her knowledge and patience with questions, that Kathi truly cared about her kittens. This seemed to me as though it was her life and that is exactly what I was looking for from a breeder. I wanted them to be doing something they put their whole heart into and it was very clear to me that this was the case and apparently I have good instincts because I was definitely right. The process was very easy. I gave an upfront deposit, received some papers to sign and instructions I needed and then arranged for pickup. She drove to the airport to meet me with my new kitten, Gabriella and we sat and talked about everything and I then I jumped on a flight back home. Gabriella has been a dream. She is basically my daughter now and I had made it very clear I wanted a very loving kitten with a certain type of temperament and Kathi did not disappoint. You can easily tell how well trained she was from the start. The adjustment period was astonishingly low and there have been little to no issues whatsoever which is just amazing in itself. I send Kathi updated pictures and videos, probably too often but I want her to be able to see Gabriella grow up and to see how much of a positive impact she has on our family.
